Some Shocking Tips About Electrical Safety
It’s funny—It seems that as electrical equipment becomes more and more advanced, we tend to notice it less and less. When’s the last time you thought about the process of turning on a light, much less powering up a computer or charging your cell phone?
You see, we tend to not think of electricity. This isn’t a problem necessarily, except for when it comes to how we handle electrical safety. Even though modern electronics are incredibly safe, we still need to take certain precautions with any live electrical equipment.
Here are three ways to be safer with electricity.
1) Unplug
If you’re in the process of leaving the office for the evening, take an extra moment to unplug the electronic devices in your workspace. This small step will eliminate the risk of any unexpected electrical emergencies.
2) Update
About once a month, take a few minutes and look at your electrical equipment, cords included, and assess the status of them. If you see any fraying or exposed cords, make sure to replace them with newer, properly functioning equipment.
